Former RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg student-athlete Tyler Brennan has signed an NHL Entry Level Contract with the New Jersey Devils.
Brennan spent two seasons in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) with RHA Winnipeg. The Winnipeg, MB netminder joined the program in 2017/18, posting a CSSHL division best 1.52 GAA and .947 SV% along with 5 shutouts in 16 U15 Prep games. At the conclusion of the season the Prince George Cougars would select Brennan in the first round, 21st overall at the 2018 Western Hockey League (WHL) Draft.
Brennan would return to RHA Winnipeg for the 2018/19 U18 Prep season, recording a 2.69 GAA and .909 SV% in 19 games.
In 2019/20 he would join the Cougars, playing 15 WHL games. He would also play four games for Team Canada White at the World Under 17 Hockey Challenge, finishing with one shutout and two wins.
During the 2020/21 WHL season Brennan would play just four games due to the COVID-19 pandemic but he would finish with a 2.16 GAA, .933 SV% and 1 shutout. Following that season he would play for Team Canada at the U18 World Championship, helping the team capture a gold medal.
Brennan would play 39 games in 2021/22 with the New Jersey Devils ultimately drafting him in the fourth round, 102nd overall at the 2022 NHL Draft. This past season Brennan played 37 WHL games with the Cougars, winning 21 of them and posting 2 shutouts.
