CSSHL student-athletes Luke Bodtker, Knox Burton, Kristian Lima and Marko Malbasa have signed WHL Scholarship and Development Agreements with their respective teams.
After clinching a CSSHL U15 title with Edge School last season, Bodtker continued to prove crucial to the Mountaineer’s success in U15 Prep. The Calgary, AB native added another 33 points to his career total after securing 64 points during his U15 tenure in 2024/25. Bodtker was a key piece to Edge School’s runner-up finish in the 2026 CSSHL U15 Prep Western Championship, tallying three helpers en route to the finals. Bodtker would end up being selected 57th overall by the Medicine Hat Tigers at the 2026 WHL Prospects Draft and signed shortly after scoring the game winning goal in his WHL pre-season debut. Bodtker is slotted to play with Edge School’s U18 Prep squad for the upcoming season.
Initially joining the CSSHL with RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg in 2023, Burton has been an offensive force across the U15 Prep, U17 Prep and U18 Prep divisions. After posting 33 points with RHA Winnipeg’s U15 Prep squad during the 2023/24 season, Burton was drafted in the fifth round of the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft by the Prince Albert Raiders. The Winnipeg, MB native would follow up his draft year with an impressive showing in the U17 Prep division nearly posting 2.0 points per game with 56 points across 32 games. Burton was named a Prairie First Team All-Star after the 2024/25 season. Entering the 2025/26 season, Burton would take his talents to Pilot Mound Hockey Academy where he would continue to be an offensive threat. Burton tallied another 46 points with the Buffaloes including 8 points at the inaugural East West Challenge, also being named to a First Team All-Star at the event. Burton’s WHL rights were traded to the Seattle Thunderbirds where he would go on to sign his WHL contract. Burton currently has 4 points across 3 pre-season games with the Thunderbirds.
After an impressive rookie campaign with BWC Academy’s U15 Prep team in 2024/25, Lima would continue to leave a mark on the scoresheet in his second U15 Prep season. Lima would nearly double his point production from the previous season posting 51 points across 30 games in 2025/26. The Langley, BC product would be selected early in the second round of the 2026 WHL Prospects Draft as the Victoria Royals chose Lima with the 28th selection.
Reigning out of St. Andrews, MB, Malbasa donned the ‘C’ for RHA Winnipeg’s U15 Prep team during the 2025/26 season. From the blueline, Malbasa would etch 7 goals and 31 points into the scoresheet, upping his total of 24 from the season prior. Malbasa’s solid game and stature intrigued the scouts of his home province Brandon Wheat Kings as they picked Malbasa with the 42nd selection at the 2026 WHL Prospects Draft.
