GAME DAY RECAP: October 19, 2025

Delta Hockey Academy Black (6) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (3) U15

CDA grabbed the games first goal as Reed Witham (2G) scored on the power play 5:41 in. However, it was Delta Black that would lead after 20 as Zach Giles, Dean Jones (1G, 1A) and Bryce Bose all found the back of the net in the second half of the period. The lead would grow even more in the second as Stefano Trentalance (2G, 1A) and Bentley Gillis each beat Bo Toperosky (34/40). Witham would finally halt the run with another power play goal 3:04 later, but Trentalance replied for Delta Black with a power play goal of his own 1:09 later. Aden Bancarz (1G, 1A) would score the lone third period goal, beating Holter Karpiak (28/31) for his third goal of the season.

North Shore Warriors (5) vs Delta Hockey Academy (3) U18 Prep

Nash Dickson and Vlad Ibragimov (1G, 1A) scored 1:56 apart as North Shore grabbed an early 2-0 lead. Delta would get one back a few minutes later as Conor Nicolson scored his fourth goal of the campaign. Brenden Morgan (1G, 1A) doubled the lead with a shorthanded goal 8:11 into the second and Calgary Hitmen prospect Jack Poole (2G) scored his first of the game 1:59 later. Treyce Pavlic would respond for Delta late in the second, cutting the North Shore lead back down to two. Kishan Saggu would then bring Delta within one with, scoring his first of the season with a little over two-and-a-half minutes to play. However, the comeback bid would fall short as Poole scored his second of the game with two seconds left and Kai Ebert (48/51) finished with 48 saves to secure the North Shore victory.

OHA Edmonton (5) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (8) U15

OHA Edmonton dominated the first period outshooting RHA Winnipeg 22-14 as they held a 4-1 lead on goals from Max Holland, Marek Fetter, Kirk Girard (1G, 2A), and Cohen Courchesne (1G, 1A). The tide would begin to shift in the second as Yuto Agapito (2G) and Kingston Ireland (1G, 1A) traded goals 1:13 apart before Jax Fellner (1G, 1A) and Caleb Church (2G, 1A) tallied back-to-back goals in a span of 47 seconds. The third belonged entirely to RHA Winnipeg as Brantley Church (1G, 1A) tied the game 2:36 into the period and Max Manaigre (1G, 2A) scored the eventual game winner three minutes later. Agapito would add an insurance marker a few minutes later and Caleb Church secured the victory with his second of the game with 46 seconds left to play. Madyx Cyr (40/45) and Bronson Kasturi (33/41) were in net for their respective teams.

Selwyn House School (3) vs Bishop’s College School (7) East U17 Prep

Grady Cohen (1G, 1A) opened the scoring for Bishop’s, tallying his third of the season 6:25 in. The Selwyn power play would respond with a Luca Macri (1G, 1A) 5-on-3 goal and a Yassin Chamma’a 5-on-4 goal 34 seconds later. Bishop’s countered with two quick goals of their own as Henry Bassuk and Cole Toms (1G, 1A) scored 1:15 apart to give their team the lead. A frantic first period would end with the two teams tied 3-3 as Hugh Griffin scored his second of the season for Selwyn. Thomas Roy would score the line second period goal before Elliott Correia, Nathan Adams and Dominik Bickos scored in the third as Bishop’s rattled off four unanswered to claim a 7-3 win. Egor Oganesyan (22/25) and Francis Paradis (34/41) were in net for their respective teams.

BWC Academy (3) vs Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (0) U17 Prep

Liam Kellett (22/22) made 22 saves as he secured his second win and first shutout of the season in a 3-0 BWC Academy victory over Wenatchee. Nathan Da Silva scored the eventual game winner 6:39 into the first period, beating Bannen Clements (38/41) for his first goal of the season. After a scoreless second, Jaxen McFegan scored 38 seconds into the third period to double the BWC Academy lead. George Gapeshin added his first of the season 2:16 later to round out the scoring.

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (11) vs STAR Hockey Academy (3) U15

Koen Nicholas (4G) set the tone just 44 seconds in scoring his eighth goal of the season in what would be a five-goal opening period for Pacific Coast. Brayden Castelsky (3G) would score 23 seconds later, and another 35 seconds after that. Nolan Riley (2G, 1A) would score a minute later and Nicholas added his second 48 seconds later as Pacific Coast led 5-0 just 3:30 into the game. STAR would come to life in the second as Mason Layher and Matthew Atherley (1G, 1A) each scored their second of the season. However, Nicholas recorded his hat-trick just 30 seconds later. The third period would be similar to the first as Riley, Castelsky, Nicholas, Tate Davis and Jonah Michell (1G, 3A) all found the back of the net for PCHA. Yeojun Park (1G, 1A) would get one back for STAR but the scoreline ended with a lopsided Pacific Coast victory.

STAR Hockey Academy (1) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (4) U17 Prep

In the CSSHL Featured Game of the Day the home side would open the scoring 2:17 in as Mason Alexander (1G, 1A) scored his second of the season. Cam Hoggan would beat Matthew Palmer (37/38) 7:25 into the second, evening the score at 1-1. Griffin Hoy (1G, 1A) would score his first of the year a few minutes later to put RHA Kelowna back on top. Jack Leslie would double the lead just 19 seconds into the third, beating Erik Sims (33/36) for this third of the year. STAR would make a late push to even the score but an empty net goal by Cole Hamakawa with 1:14 remaining secured the RHA Kelowna victory.

Delta Hockey Academy (8) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (1) U17 Prep

Brady Cyr (2G) and Cash Field (2G) each scored twice while Nicolas Peach (1G, 2A) led all skaters with three points as Delta defeated CDA 8-1. Silas Colina, Sebastian Joslin (1G, 1A) and Ewan Torrance (1G, 1A) scored the other goals for Delta in their lopsided victory. AJ Fu was the lone CDA skater to beat Quinn Coupland (21/22).

St. George’s School (6) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (4) U15 Prep

Nick Hill (2G) opened the scoring for St. George’s just 37 seconds into the game, scoring his third goal of the season. Cal McCall (2G, 1A) would even the score a few minutes later, firing his first of the season past Cohen Wood (39/43). St. George’s would reply with three straight as Theo Wesik (2G, 1A), Hill and Jack Davison 91G, 1A) all found the back of the net. Jason Thomson (1G, 1A) was quick to reply for PCHA as they cut into the deficit heading into the second. McCall brought Pacific Coast within one 47 seconds into the second, scoring his second of the game and season. Hudson Lesk resorted the two goal lead midway through the period, tallying his fourth of the year. Pacific Coast would once again strike to get within one as Jamie Davidson scored his first of the year, but Wesik replied just 13 seconds later to secure the St. George’s victory as they held on the remainder of the way. Max Hoeft (4A) led all skaters with four points.

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (2) vs St. George’s School (3) U15

Despite being outshot 21-13 in the first St. George’s led 2-0 on goals from Minsoo Lee and Alan Qiu. Hudson Pearce (1G, 1A) would breakthrough for RHA Kelowna 37 seconds later, cutitng the lead to one. Asher Jin restored the two goal lead with a second period power play marker, his first of the season. RHA Kelowna mounted a late push as Dane Morley scored in the third to bring his team within one. However, an impressive performance from David Itin (48/50) that saw him make 48 saves, secured the win for St. George’s. Quinn Hooper (22/25) faced 25 shots in the loss.

Shawnigan Lake School (4) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (6) Female U18 Prep

OHA outshot Shawnigan 13-7 in the first but it was the visitors who held a 1-0 lead after 20 as Alyssa Worsley scored on the power play 6:29 into the game. Megan Norrie countered early in the second with a power play goal of her own and an even strength marker from Sayler Russell out OHA ahead 2-1 midway through the game. Ava Hamel (1G, 1A) would tie the game less than two minutes later but Beth Milke was quick to restore the OHA lead, doing so just 1:44 after that. Sara Gerdel (1G, 1A) and Shayla Scinocca would score 36 seconds apart early in the third as the OHA lead grew to 5-2. Tess McGee and Ava Clavelle (1G, 1A) would trade power play goals as it remained a three goal cushion with less than five to play. Eden Hamel scored the third Shawnigan power play goal of the game, but with 48 seconds left, it was too late as Teagan Janzen (13/17) secured the OHA win. Lauryn Gladstone (29/35) faced 35 shots in the loss.

Northern Alberta Xtreme (5) vs South Alberta Hockey Academy (1) U15 Prep

A weekend of high-scoring wins for the Northern Alberta Xtreme would only continue into Sunday against the South Alberta Hockey Academy, and while Sunday was closer than the previous two played by NAX this weekend, but for SAHA that won’t be too much of a consolation. NAX’s 23-2 and 7-1 wins in the first two games of the weekend would be followed up with the toughest task they’d faced since their thrilling 8-7 overtime win over OHA Edmonton two weeks prior. Liam Bordt continued a red-hot start to the season, with his goal and assist making it nine goals and 16 points in merely five games. NAX only led 3-1 through two, but extended the lead further in the third to secure what ended up being a 5-1 win.

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (1) vs Delta Hockey Academy (4) U17

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna’s October has seen blowout wins and blowout losses throughout, but after the tight 3-2 loss against Delta Hockey Academy last night, they’d find themselves on the wrong side of an even stronger DHA performance. Delta’s last loss was at the hands of RHAK back on September 28, and they’d further maintain their perfect October on Sunday. Beckam Skrypnyk scored the first two goals of the game, and a big second-period offensive output saw Delta pull away by four through two periods. RHAK mounted a push in the third and would outshoot Delta, but by then, the deficit was too large. DHA won 4-1, finishing October perfect with five straight wins.

Shawnigan Lake School (0) vs Yale Hockey Academy (13) U15 Prep

Delta Hockey Academy gave Yale Hockey Academy’s U15 Prep team everything they could handle back on September 13, but Yale still won, grinding out a 3-2 overtime victory. Why reference the game five weeks prior? Since then, Yale haven’t just won every game, they’ve steamrolled their opponents in every game. Since that overtime win, Yale followed it up with five straight victories, scoring 53 goals over those five games heading into Sunday, including 11 yesterday in the win over Shawnigan. SLS, unfortunately, couldn’t produce a better result. Parker McMillan (4G, 1A) had five points, marking his sixth game with his tenth goal and twenty-seventh point. Presumedly, McMillan hasn’t been the only YHA player to score at an extremely high clip. Connor Baines (1G, 3A) and Teagan Dernisky (4A) both had four or more points in the game, with Dernisky also expanding his point streak to six straight to start the season.

Delta Hockey Academy White (2) vs BWC Academy (4) U15

BWC Academy’s U15 squad lost their opening game at the hands of Delta Hockey Academy Black, but since then, BWC had fought their way to six consecutive victories. They prevailed 4-2 over Delta Hockey Academy White eight days prior, but heading into Sunday’s game between the two teams, Delta White had won two straight games. BWC put an end to DHAW’s hopes of making it three straight wins with three straight goals to start the game, and while DHAW hit the BWC net with 34 shots in the game, Burnaby was able to safely protect a three-goal lead until the end of the game. DHAW pulled the game back within two late, making it 4-2, but failed to get any closer. Three points from Alex Iaichkin (1G, 2A) and 32 saves on 34 shots from goaltender Lachlan Beatty led BWC to their seventh straight win.

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (3) vs Indigenous Sports Academy (0) U17 Prep

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy’s U17 Prep team had been near-perfect in their October schedule so far, losing once to Prairie Hockey Academy, and that continued into this weekend. Indigenous Sports Academy, unfortunately, were the latest victims of PMHA’s rampage through October. Saturday night saw PMHA down ISA 7-1, with Sunday providing ISA a rematch. There wouldn’t be any exacted vengeance on Sunday, though, as PMHA shut down ISA throughout much of the game. Maddox Ramage scored twice for PMHA, but better than that, it was Yuki Kido’s day to shine, with Pilot Mound’s goaltender making 29 saves for the shutout.

BWC Academy (5) vs Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (4) U18 Prep

BWC Academy’s U18 Prep squad lost their opening game of the season to Edge School, but following the hiccup, they’ve been on a heater with four straight wins heading into Sunday. BWC bested the Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy 6-1 on Saturday, and looked to be well on their way to victory again on Sunday. With under two minutes to play in the second period, BWC led 4-1, but Wenatchee pumped up the pressure in an attempt to get a result out of this weekend. The Wild managed to score three, striking twice on the powerplay to make things close, but unfortunately for them, it wasn’t enough. Declan Iacoviello (2G, 1A) scored his second goal of the game in the third period, rendering Wenatchee’s comeback fruitless, with BWC holding on to win 5-4.

Edge School (2/OT) vs OHA Edmonton (1) U17

Edge School’s U17 team came into Sunday having won four of their first five games, while OHA Edmonton had followed up three straight losses to start the season with five straight wins. However, two of those three losses came at the hands of Edge School, making Sunday’s task all the more daunting. Kane Strudwick scored the first goal of the game for OHAE, but Edge responded in the second with a goal through Kyden Bartole. Edge School outshot OHAE 44-32 over the sixty minutes, but there wasn’t anything separating the two teams. It only took Edge School 37 seconds of overtime to finally find their breakthrough, the one that would win them the game, with Devin Kian Shape grabbing the puck in his own zone and driving down the ice, finishing with a move to the forehands to win Edge the game 2-1 in overtime.

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (12) vs STAR Hockey Academy (1) U17

STAR Hockey Academy’s back-to-back wins over the North Shore Warriors during the last weekend of September had been their only one of the U17 season until Saturday, before they finally won their third over Pacific Coast Hockey Academy. The two previous weekends in October for PCHA had followed the same theme: a loss in their opening game before bouncing back with a win in the second of their back-to-backs against Okanagan Hockey Academy and RHA Kelowna. Sunday made sure this weekend against STAR followed the same trend for PCHA, not just following up their Saturday loss with a victory, but a massive one. Nixon Szadkowski (3G, 3A) and Blake Bidney (3G, 1A) had a hat-trick apiece, and five points from Trent Porter (2G, 3A) helped propel PCHA to a 12-1 win.

Lower Canada College (8) vs CIH Academy (2) East U17 Prep

Lower Canada College and CIH Academy’s U17 Prep seasons are both still in the early stages, and unfortunately for CIH Academy, they couldn’t use Sunday to bounce back from two consecutive losses to start the season. LCC dominated the first period, but their 2-0 lead early in the first didn’t last, with CIH Academy tying it before the end of the period. Unfortunately for CIH, it wasn’t the score through one; it was the shots on goal that were more indicative of the trajectory of the game. LCC outshot CIH 31-7 in the first period, and while the first 20 minutes came and went with the game deadlocked, LCC scored six goals in the final forty minutes. Two goals apiece from Mario Lapenna (2G, 2A) and Harry Miller (2G, 1A) led the way, with LCC winning 8-2.

Okanagan Hockey Academy (3) vs North Shore Warriors (1) U15 Prep

The six consecutive losses to start the season for the North Shore Warriors’ U15 Prep team directly contrasted with Okanagan Hockey Academy’s start to the season, who had won four of six to begin. It looked as if North Shore was finally going to be able to notch a victory through the first twenty minutes, but their 1-0 lead was turned around within eleven second-period seconds. Mason Liebel (2G) and Lukas Pandachuck scored quick-fire goals, and from there, Oakley Speckman completely shut the door on any North Shore effort to tie the game. Speckman made 29 saves on 30 shots in all, and Liebel’s second of the game into the empty net sealed OHA’s 3-1 win.

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (5) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (1) U18 Prep

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna have been red-hot to start the U18 Prep season, with seven straight wins to start the season, while Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy had won two of five heading into Sunday. CDA led 1-0 through twenty minutes of play, but come the second, RHAK took the game in their hands, and ultimately, ran away with it. In less than ten minutes of the second period, RHAK scored four goals, only needing one more in the third to seal a commanding 5-1 win, now extending their winning streak to eight.

St. George’s School (3) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (5) U18 Prep

After three straight defeats to start the season, the Pacific Coast Hockey Academy’s U18 Prep team rattled off back-to-back victories heading into this weekend, where St. George’s Prep awaited. Saturday saw PCHA win a back-and-forth 6-5 thriller over St. George’s, and come Sunday, the same story would unfold again. A 2-0 PCHA lead didn’t last for long before St. George’s fought their way back, eventually taking a 3-2 lead in the second. A buzzer-beater at the end of the period for PCHA sent the game into the third period tied, and with the momentum in PCHA’s hands following that, they ended up with two in the third to pull away from SGS. Parson Shahi (2G, 1A), Roman Lavery (1G, 3A), and Elliott Hill (1G, 2A) led the way for PCHA offensively, with the ever-reliable Kole Anderosov making 39 saves on 42 shots for the 5-3 win.

Yale Hockey Academy (3) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (1) U17 Prep

Yale Hockey Academy and Okanagan Hockey Academy’s U17 Prep teams came into Sunday’s head-to-head with different track records so far, with Yale winning just one of four, and OHA only suffering a pair of shootout losses, winning the rest of their six games. The game on Sunday remained deadlocked through two periods, with goals from Luke Edgehouse and Daniel Harvard keeping things square at one. Approaching the halfway point on the third, Ruder Buick struck for Yale to give them a 2-1 lead, and Matteo Zenone’s insurance marker sealed Yale’s win. Coby Kidwell followed up his win over RHAK Saturday with another 32 saves on 33 shots on Sunday to earn his second straight win.

Okanagan Hockey Academy (4) vs Yale Hockey Academy (6) U18 Prep

Yale Hockey Academy’s U18 Prep squad lost their opening four games of the season heading into Sunday, but in three of those four games, they lost by just a single goal. Three games where YHA just couldn’t get over the finish line. Okanagan Hockey Academy have had a tough start to the U18 Prep season so far, winning one of their first four, meaning Sunday was a game which both teams would have been extremely motivated to come out of with a victory. An evenly fought first forty minutes saw both teams score three goals apiece, with the lead changing three different times in the process. Luke Assi scored 8 seconds into the third period to give OHA a lead, one they’d hold on to until the 12-minute mark of the third. In the span of 8 seconds, Yale scored two goals, with the trio of Jonathan Bitonti (1G, 2A), Holden Sexsmith (3A), and Matteo Di Stefano (1G, 2A) combining on both goals to give Yale a quick lead. Alex Ostrovskyy (2G) sealed the deal late, helping Yale prevail 6-4 and giving them, at last, their first win of the season, after three razor-thin defeats earlier in the month.

Calgary International Hockey Academy (11) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (1) U18 Prep

Calgary International Hockey Academy’s U18 Prep team came into Sunday having won two of five to start the season, struggling to score consistently. Their wins saw big offensive performances, while their losses have all been in games where they scored two goals or fewer. RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg beat the Wenatchee Wild in their opener, but have also struggled for offence since then. Only one of the two teams saw their offence break through on Sunday, though, with CIHA starting the scoring just 52 seconds in and never looking back from there. Mason Moran (3G, 2A) and James Matheos (3G, 2A) led the way with three goals apiece for CIHA, who scored six goals in the third period to prevail 11-1.

BWC Academy (2) vs Delta Hockey Academy (4) U15 Prep

The previous game between BWC Academy and Delta Hockey Academy’s U15 Prep teams saw Delta prevail 5-2, splitting up BWC’s wins over North Shore and St. George’s to start the season. Yale Hockey Academy beat Delta in their first game of the season, but since then, DHA have been perfect with five straight wins. Through the first half of the hockey game, BWC were the better side. They outshot DHA and led 2-1 by the halfway point of the game. Delta, however, took the game from there. Colby Walker scored a power-play goal late in the second, and DHA outshot BWC 16-3 in the third period. Walker scored again to make good on that domination, and Delta would add an empty-netter from Braelyn Nunley helped DHA win 4-2.

Shawnigan Lake School (5/SO) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (4) U17 Prep

Saturday night saw Shawnigan Lake School and Pacific Coast Hockey Academy’s U17 Prep squads duke it out in the first of back-to-back head-to-head matchups, and while PCHA rallied from 3-1 down to force overtime, Shawnigan was ultimately victorious, with Darwin Ketch’s overtime winner ending the game. Sunday’s rematch saw a similar scenario take place; Shawnigan Lake took a two-goal lead in the third period, and PCHA tried to push back. Collin Lee scored on the powerplay, before Owen Hyde (1G, 1A) found the equalizer with 87 seconds left in the third and again forced overtime. Unlike Saturday, overtime wouldn’t solve anything, and in the subsequent shootout, a somewhat bizarre sequence of events led to the shootout needing extra shooters, and come the fifth round, Matthew Steele’s gorgeous move to the backhand sealed the deal, giving Shawnigan another victory.
