VANCOUVER, BC – The Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) announced today that two new programs have been approved to begin league play in the 2016-17 season.

The Pilot Mound Hockey Academy and the Rink Hockey Academy were each voted in by the Board of Directors at league meetings on Wednesday.

“We are very pleased to be expanding the league in to the province of Manitoba. Both the Rink Academy and Pilot Mound Academy will bring new competition to the league in multiple divisions,” said CSSHL chair-person, Andy Oakes. “This is another step forward in the league becoming the national leader in education based hockey. We look forward to having both groups in the league for the 2016-2017 season.”

The Pilot Mound Hockey Academy is located in Pilot Mound, MB, located approximately 45 minutes west of Winkler and 15 minutes north of the Manitoba/North Dakota border. The program will offer a team in the Midget Varsity Division for the 2016-17 season. Student-athletes will attend the Pilot Mound Collegiate Institute.

The Rink Hockey Academy is headquartered in Winnipeg, MB and will offer two teams, Midget Prep and Bantam Prep, for the 2016-17 season. Student-athletes will attend Shaftesbury High School.

Additional programs new to the CSSHL in both the male and female divisions could be announced in the coming weeks.

The league also announced that the 2016 AGM will be held June 7-8, 2016 in Victoria, BC.
