GAME DAY RECAP: November 16, 2025

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (3) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (4/OT) U17

Coeur d’Alene had the hot hand early Sunday morning, breaking out for a two goal lead thanks to contributions from Wesley Padilla and Logan Madrid (2G). Haruga Kondo would continue that trend in the third, nabbing his first of the season to extend CDA’s lead to 3-0. RHA Winnipeg would get the better of CDA for the rest of the frame as Grayson Speirs and Julien Cook cut the deficit to one before the ice clean. Halfway through the third, Luke Stibbard would strike shorthanded to tie this one up for RHA Winnipeg, clawing all the way back from 3-0 down. RHA Winnipeg would have a chance to seal it, but a huge pad save from Liam Reed (50/53) was enough to force this game into OT. In the extra frame, Madrid would take it end-to-end before getting one through Brenden Wells (31/35), capping off a milestone victory to close out CDA’s weekend in fashion.

Notre Dame Hounds (4) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (5/OT) U17

Much like what was going on the other side of the facility, Notre Dame was able to establish a 3-0 lead to start this contest with Paul Abrametz nabbing the Hounds’ third early in the second. However, a spark was lit under OHA following the early tally as Nathan Marques (3G) scored the first in a four goal chain for OHA. OHA would hold on to that 4-3 lead into the late stages of the third but a late tying goal from Carter Rands sent this one to extra time. In overtime, Notre Dame would take a penalty, allowing OHA to set up on the powerplay where Marques would make no mistake, blasting one past Hudson Pooler (47/52) for the game winner.

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (3) vs STAR Hockey Academy (6) U17 Prep

Adam Zamecnik (2G) got the ball rolling for Pilot Mound with the opening tally, but a strong end to the frame from STAR handed them the lead soon after. Christian Caby would erase STAR’s lead before the end of the first, but a three goal explosion from STAR in the second would spell disaster for the Buffaloes. Adrian Afrakov (1G, 1A) and Kyler Bush (2G) would score twice in only 55-seconds to close out the second, establishing a 5-2 lead heading into the third. Bush would bury his second of the morning early in the third, putting this one out of reach for Pilot Mound.

South Alberta Hockey Academy (1) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (2) U17 Prep

Dalin Nixon would etch SAHA on to the scoreboard with the opening goal in this Sunday morning contest, but a jam play in tight from Mason Alexander (1G, 1A) tied this one back up before the period came to a close. In the second, Kaustav Pradeep would net the lone goal, deflecting Nathan Okoloise’s point shot to put RHA Kelowna in front. In the third, Dylan Mingo (52/53) would stand on his head for 17 saves in the frame, collecting a grand total of 52 through sixty, backing RHA Kelowna to victory, Chase Nielson (54/56) would also provide a valiant effort for SAHA, making 54 saves in the loss.

Camryn Thomas would later tie the game in the second for RINK off a tactical tip in front. Later in the frame, Ryann Chimera (1G, 2A) would bust through a RINK defender, burying a feed from Cooper in close to restore OHA Edmonton’s lead. Cooper would later see a penalty shot attempt but failed to pot her second of the morning past Mars McHenry (43/48). Avery Sam would close the scoring in the second off a gorgeous backhander, giving OHA Edmonton a 4-2 lead into the third. Peyton Carter wired home a one-timer early in the final frame to put this out of reach for RHA Winnipeg as Harlee Houle (26/28) would stop all eight shots in the third.

Delta Hockey Academy White (4) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (2) U15

After a quiet start to the first, Seven Xie (2G) would wire home a powerplay goal to give Delta White the go-ahead through twenty. In the second, all that would come was another late goal from Delta White, this time off the blade of Kayden Krestanovich. RHA Kelowna would flip the script early in the third after Luke Turner cashed in on a Delta White error only 11-seconds into play. However, Delta White would keep the pressure going. Xie would score his second in identical fashion to his first while Cruz Natt cashed in Delta White’s fourth. Sidney Mock would make things 4-2 later in the frame, but it was too little too late for RHA Kelowna as they fell 4-2.

Northern Alberta Xtreme (10) vs North Shore Warriors (0) U17

They may be the hosts, but the Northern Alberta Xtreme by no means made North Shore feel welcome in this contest, scoring 10-goals. However, Logan Zezel (1G, 1A) would bring things back to even before the end of the frame. STAR would score the second period’s lone goal, coming off the blade of Graham Gerritz (1G, 1A) off a RHA Kelowna turnover behind their net. STAR would continue to build their lead in the third after Ronin Brunner dusted off his seventh of the season. RHA Kelowna’s Myeongcheol Sung would score off a strong individual effort to bring them back to within one, opening the door for Colapinto to bury the game tying goal with just over five minutes left in the game. However, a late push from STAR would wrap up this contest as Joshua Rzonca wired home his first of the season to clinch the victory. Seve Paladino (3A) set up the play, securing him three helpers in the win.

St. George’s School (10) vs STAR Hockey Academy (4) U15

St. George’s wrapped up their dominant weekend over STAR Hockey Academy with another double digit outing on Sunday. Indigenous Sports Academy (3) vs Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (2) U17 Prep

However, ISA’s Lawson Gardipy (3G) would take this game by storm, scoring on a breakaway to make things 2-1 by the end of the second. Gardipy would wire home his second early in the third, tying this contest. Then in the final minute of play, Ryder Fiddler would find Gardipy from his stomach, feeding him the game winner along with his hat-trick goal, completing the comeback from 2-0 down.

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (3) vs Delta Hockey Academy Black (15) U15

Scheer dominance from Delta Black in a Sunday tilt against PCHA, scoring 15 goals. St. George’s School (2) vs North Shore Warriors (3/SO) U18 Prep

After a scoreless first, Landon Kelly would put North Shore on the scoresheet, capitalising on a puck bobbled by a Saints’ defenceman. However, the Saints would claw back as Byron Chin and Jason Gao would strike back-to-back to establish the lead. Into the third, Jack Poole would spring Ethan Patterson onto a breakaway where he would jam it through to tie things up and force overtime. North Shore would see their fair share of chances but couldn’t find an answer in the extra frame. However, they would click in the shootout as Poole and Sidney Bellfoy would find twine in stylish fashion. Elias Mitrikas (36/38) would stone Noah Fowler in the final round, giving the Warriors the margin over St. George’s.

Prairie Hockey Academy (7) vs St. George’s School (4) U17 Prep

St. George’s powerplay would go an impressive 3/7 against Prairie, but the overwhelming offense from PHA would spell trouble for the Saints. Moose Jaw Warriors prospect Owen Grassick (2G, 1A) would lead the charge in a seven goal outing for Prairie, nabbing two goals and three points in the win. Kohen Peers (3A) would provide three assists from the blueline while Luke Ratzlaff (36/40) made 36 stops. Hudson Podollan (2G) would bury their first on a breakaway while Brooks Anderson wired home a one-timer shorthanded to tie the contest up at 2-2. Fast forward to the third and Sean Strasser (1G, 1A) would restore Wenatchee’s lead. However, a last ditch effort from Podollan tied this one up once more, forcing overtime. A late penalty from Wenatchee would spell doom for the Wild as Matej Bydzovsky would score on the powerplay 22-seconds into overtime, wrapping this one up for CDA.

Ontario Hockey Academy (6) vs CIH Academy (0) East U17 Prep

OHA cruised to a 6-0 victory in a Sunday tilt with CIH Academy. Elliott Sullivan (2G) led the way with a two goal outing, including a fancy finish on a breakaway in the second. Jin Inoue (22/22) made 22 saves for his fifth win and first shutout of the season.

OHA Edmonton vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy U17 Prep

The effort for the Pacific Coast Hockey Academy on Sunday was commendable, but unfortunately, they couldn’t get their goal-scoring going in time to stave off defeat. Despite the evenly-played game, OHA Edmonton held a 4-0 stranglehold late into the second period, and PCHA’s pushback fell short. OHAE’s penalty kill made a massive impact, as despite giving PCHA nine powerplay opportunities, they’d remain 100% on the PK.

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg vs BWC Academy U17 Prep

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg and BWC Academy’s U17 Prep squads combined for 15 goals, 89 shots, and 55 penalty minutes. It took 47 seconds of overtime to settle things, though, with Brayden McCrorie arriving to score his second of the season.

OHA Edmonton vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy U17

OHA Edmonton peppered the PCHA net from start to finish in their U17 clash Sunday, but from the moment Max Scheffer (2G) gave PCHA the lead 88 seconds into the game, OHA Edmonton’s offensive efforts were simply in the pursuit of chasing from behind. Every time OHAE put the puck in the net, PCHA were able to respond and extend the lead. Oliver Boniface made 53 saves on 56 shots for PCHA, and despite a pair of late goals from OHAE, led his team to the win.

Northern Alberta Xtreme vs Shawnigan Lake School U17 Prep

Unfortunately for Shawnigan Lake School’s U17 Prep team, the first two minutes and eight seconds of the hockey game were the only minutes in which the Northern Alberta Xtreme didn’t lead. Donny Sewall (2G, 1A) scored two in the first period and Seth Kshyk (2G, 1A) scored two in the second for NAX to establish the wide lead they wouldn’t surrender. Dawson Sheehan made 26 saves on 26 shots for the shutout victory.

The momentum swung in both directions, back and forth as the periods changed. The first period belonged to OHA, outshooting Edge 14-6 and leading 1-0 through Jaxson Bartsch (2G, 1A). Edge School controlled the second, outshooting OHA 16-10 and tying the game through a goal from Ezra Blair. The final swing would go the favour of the hosts, with OHA dominating the third, outshooting Edge 14-5. Beckham Taggart (1G, 1A) scored on the powerplay late in the third period to give his team the lead with a goal that was the eventual game-winner. An empty-net goal ended the game 3-1 in OHA’s favour.

Calgary International Hockey Academy vs Delta Hockey Academy U17 Prep

Two of the U17 Prep division’s best teams clashed Sunday night. The Calgary International Hockey Academy scored two in the first 2:15 of the game, but Delta Hockey Academy pushed like crazy in an effort to come from behind throughout the rest of the sixty minutes. Ewan Torrance scored once in the second and once in the third for DHA to force overtime, but come overtime, it took 21 seconds for things to be settled. Rylan Wood’s second of the game in overtime gave CIHA the win in dramatic fashion, thanks in part to goaltender Colton Lutz, who made 36 saves on 38 shots in the win.

North Shore Warriors vs Yale Hockey Academy U17 Prep

The North Shore Warriors’ U17 Prep team showed up to play in the first period of play. They outshot Yale Hockey Academy 22-11 in the first and took a 2-1 lead, but from there, Yale took over and dominated. YHA outshot North Shore 49-12 in the second and third periods combined, and while North Shore made good on their limited chances with a pair of goals over that stretch, Yale’s offence came to life late in the second. Trae Alexander scored twice and three points apiece from Matthew Zaitchikov (1G, 2A) and Jackson Beggs (3A) led Yale to the four-goal victory.
