GAME DAY RECAP: December 14, 2025

King Heights Academy (0) vs Fort Erie International Academy (9) East U18 Prep

Fort Erie International Academy continued its dominance over King Heights Academy with a lopsided 9–0 win on Sunday morning, marking their fourth decisive victory over KHA this season and extending a trend that has heavily favoured FEIA in recent meetings. George Tagirov (2G, 2A) paced the offense with a four-point performance, factoring into goals in both the first and third periods, while Yuri Baunov (1G) and Samuel Schelling (1G, 1A) added to a deep and balanced attack that saw eight different goal scorers. Daniel Zick (1G, 1A) and Riley Cave (2A) were also influential early as Fort Erie jumped out to a 3–0 first-period lead and never looked back. Ashton Venzon (11/11) turned aside every shot he faced for the shutout, while his team outshot the opposition 69–11, underlining FEIA’s control from start to finish.

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (2) vs Edge School (3) U17 Prep

Edge School squeezed out a 3–2 home win over Pilot Mound Hockey Academy, flipping the result from their earlier season meeting and bouncing back after a recent loss, as special-teams made the difference. Malcolm McLeod (2G) opened the scoring late in the first on the power play and buried the decisive goal with 15 seconds left in regulation again on the man advantage, while Evan Lynch (1G, 1A) tied the game early in the third to spark Edge’s push. Pilot Mound answered with second-period goals from Maddox Ramage (1G) on the power play and Sebastian Nuttall (1G, 1A), briefly taking the lead despite being outshot. Edge controlled the shot clock 47–18 to round out a tightly contested matchup decided in the final minute.

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (7) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (3) U15

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg continued its strong run with a convincing 7–3 road win over Northern Alberta Xtreme, building a four-goal first period and never looking back while outshooting NAX 42–26. Brantley Church (3G, 1A) led the way with a first-period hat trick and added an assist, while Brock Labelle (2G, 1A) and Max Manaigre (1G, 1A) each recorded multi-point outings to pace the offense. Jackson Lussier (1G) capped the scoring in the third, with Nash Smook (2A) contributing playmaking support. For Northern Alberta Xtreme, goals from Myer Hipkins (1G), Staal Kurka (1G), and Deston May (1G) kept things competitive through two periods, while Cooper Beardy (23/26) stopped 23 shots for RHA Winnipeg to secure the win.

Edge School (2) vs Calgary International Hockey Academy (0) U15

Edge School extended its winning streak to three games with a clean 2–0 shutout over Calgary International Hockey Academy, edging a tight matchup between two teams that entered the game riding momentum. After a scoreless first period, Cohen Snukal-Lyon (2G) broke the deadlock just 14 seconds into the second on a setup from Nixon Reid-Dinning (1A) and Kyson Sylvester (1A), before sealing the result with a late empty-netter. Carter Gideon (32/32) was rock solid between the pipes, turning aside all 32 shots for the shutout as Edge weathered even shot totals and killed off all three penalties. CIHA pressed throughout but couldn’t solve Gideon, while Mason Filipchuk (30/31) kept the game within reach until the final minute.

Delta Hockey Academy (11) vs Shawnigan Lake School (1) U15 Prep

Delta Hockey Academy completed a dominant weekend sweep of Shawnigan Lake School with an emphatic 11–1 victory, one night after a 4–0 shutout, extending their winning streak to three games and outscoring Shawnigan 15–1 in the two-game. Delta controlled the game from start to finish, firing 75 shots and breaking it open with six third-period goals, as Johann Zhao (2G), Brady Cook (1G, 3A), Reid Dutschek (1G, 2A), Mazen Green (1G, 2A), and Eli Vickers (1G, 2A) all turned in multi-point performances. Additional scoring came from Woojin Seo (1G), Colby Walker (1G, 1A), Braelyn Nunley (1G), Ryan Pickell (1G, 1A), and Jake Dunlop (1G, 1A), while Josh Anderson (3A), Carson Brown (2A), Nathan Roberts (2A), and Carsten Patrick (2A) added steady playmaking throughout the lineup.

Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (6) vs STAR Hockey Academy (3) U17

Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy completed a dramatic turnaround weekend against STAR Hockey Academy with a 6–3 comeback win on Sunday, earning their second straight victory in the season series after rebounding from a 6–0 loss two days earlier and following up a 6–5 win on Saturday. STAR jumped out to a 3–0 first-period lead on power-play goals, but Coeur d’Alene steadily took control as Kirill Zhikharev (3G, 3A) delivered a dominant performance, scoring once in the second period and exploding for a natural hat trick in the third, including an empty-netter to seal it. Blake Celski (1G, 1A) opened the comeback late in the first and added an assist, while Chase Lemieux (1G) tied the game midway through the second to swing momentum. Gunner Podollan (36/39) was sharp after the opening frame with 36 saves on 39 shots. For STAR, Deacon Wilson (1G, 1A), Jack Adsit (1G), and Aaron Comer (1G) provided the early scoring, but Coeur d’Alene’s five unanswered goals underscored a strong response and flipped the script in a rivalry game.

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (2) vs OHA Edmonton (12) U15 Prep

OHA Edmonton stayed red hot and extended its winning streak to eight games with a dominant 12–2 victory over Pilot Mound Hockey Academy on Sunday, marking their third lopsided win over PMHA this season and continuing a stretch in which they’ve outscored opponents 29–6 over the weekend. OHA Edmonton set the tone with five first-period goals and never eased off, outshooting Pilot Mound 65–23 as Steven Leavitt (3G) powered the offense with a hat trick, while Kobe Pellack (2G), Ian Kim (1G, 2A), Deacon Gillespie (1G, 2A), Kelson Hawreluik (1G, 1A), Austin Rideout (1G), Erik Miller (1G), Damon Chinski (1G), and Kingston Ireland (1G,) all found the back of the net. Jaxson Weisgerber (3A), Nate Harrington (3A) and Marek Pashko (3A) displayed their passing talents with three assists each, while Rowen Germain (21/23) earned the win in goal. Gage Romanchuk (53/65) faced constant pressure as OHA Edmonton reinforced its position as one of the league’s most dominant teams.

STAR Hockey Academy (0) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (3) U15

Okanagan Hockey Academy with a controlled 3–0 win against STAR Hockey Academy, extending its win streak to three games and completing a weekend sweep after a 6–1 victory on Friday. OHA struck quickly in the first period as Levi Muir (1G) opened the scoring, followed by goals from Liam Pratt (1G) and Cruz Rasmussen (1G) on the power play, then locked things down defensively the rest of the way while outshooting STAR 47–22. Linden Hartford (22/22) was perfect in goal for the shutout. Despite a strong second period push, STAR couldn’t solve Hartford, as Zachary Kolar (44/47) kept the game respectable with a busy performance in net.

Prairie Hockey Academy (3) vs Calgary International Hockey Academy (7) U18 Prep

Calgary International Hockey Academy dominated Prairie Hockey Academy 7–3 on Sunday, bouncing back after a 4–2 loss to PHA earlier in the season. CIHA jumped out to a 3–0 first-period lead on goals from James Matheos (1G, 2A), Calum Giese (1G, 1A), and Aedan McCarry (1G, 1A), forcing PHA to play catch-up. Tyson Ross (1G) got PHA on the board early in the second, but CIHA kept the pressure, scoring four more times in the third, including two by Dominik Silbernagel (2G, 1A) and singles from Mason Moran (1G, 1A) and Walker Filewich (1G). Kane Domres (1G) and Zane Rains (1G) contributed for PHA. The game featured multiple misconducts and roughing penalties, highlighting the physical intensity of the matchup.

Notre Dame Hounds (1) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (5) U17

Northern Alberta Xtreme snapped a three-game skid and evened the weekend series with a decisive 5–1 win over Notre Dame Hounds, responding after dropping a 4–3 decision two days earlier in what has been a tightly contested season matchup between the teams. After trading goals in the first period, NAX took control with a short-handed marker from Matthew Brown (2G) early in the second and pulled away in the third with three unanswered goals, outshooting Notre Dame 43–33. Ethan Lobay (1G, 1A) opened the scoring and factored again on Brown’s power-play goal, while Riley Wood (2A) and Linkoln Philpotts (2A) quietly drove play from the back end. Ethan Oldford (1G) and Adem Bilajbegovic (1G) rounded out the scoring, and Jayden Dirks (32/33) was steady in net. Carter Rands (1G) accounted for Notre Dame’s lone goal, but the Hounds couldn’t generate sustained offense as NAX’s special teams and depth scoring proved to be the difference.

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (3) vs Edge School (4/OT) U15 Prep

Edge School completed a tight weekend sweep over RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg with a 4–3 overtime win on Sunday, following a 5–4 decision on Friday and improving to 2–0–1 in the season series. The teams traded momentum throughout as Edge built a 3–1 lead late in the second before RINK Winnipeg pushed back in the third, tying the game on goals from Brady Piec (1G) and Andren Paulsen (1G) after earlier opening the scoring through Aiden Christie (1G, 1A). Alex Delorme (3A) was a constant driver for RHA Winnipeg factoring in all three goals. For Edge, Keyn Lindberg (1G) struck on the power play, with Luke Van Waes (1G) and Luke Tschetter (1G) extending the lead before Zachary Pomeroy (1G) ended it 2:05 into overtime while Cohen Spencer (35/38) edged Haize Brightnose (37/41) in a closely contested duel.

Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (2) vs St. George’s School (8) U18 Prep

St. George’s School overwhelmed Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy 8–2 on Sunday, continuing their strong streak after a 9–3 win over Wenatchee yesterday. SGS jumped to a 4–1 first-period lead with goals from Jason Gao (1G, 1A), Louis Oscar Holowaychuk (1G, 2A), and Isaac Derksen (1G), while Benjamin Mikan (1G) netted Wenatchee’s lone early goal. The second saw Aaron Castro (1G, 1A) extend SGS’s lead to 5–1. In the third, SGS scored three more times through Isaac Derksen (1G), Henry Liu (1G), and Jayan Sinha (1G), with Kaiden Turta (1G) adding a late goal for Wenatchee. Goaltenders Les Toth (38/40) and Mason Lynnes (50/58) faced heavy fire, but SGS’s special teams proved decisive.

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (1) vs BWC Academy (5) U15 Prep

BWC Academy dominated Pacific Coast Hockey Academy on Sunday, extending their early-season success. BWC jumped to a 3–0 second-period lead with two goals from Hayden Carpenter (2G, 1A) and one from Rory Monahan (1G, 1A), supported by strong assists from Michael Puddicombe, Carter Yule, and Matthew Sutherland. PCHA got on the board in the third when Matthew Lavoie (1G) scored, but BWC quickly responded with goals from Kristian Lima (1G, 1A) and William Simpson (1G) to seal the 5–1 victory. Goaltenders Tyson Oake (24/25 SA) and Liam Brown (57/62) both where solid, but BWC’s high-volume attack and balanced scoring proved decisive.

Prairie Hockey Academy (7) vs OHA Edmonton (2) U17

The shots on goal, powerplay chances, and even to an extent scoring chances between Prairie Hockey Academy and OHA Edmonton’s U17 squads on Saturday were very, very even. After sixty minutes, PHA outshot OHAE by only two, but the scoreline saw a much wider spread. PHA goals in the first minute and the last minute of the first period from Reid Kawaguchi and Kase Gellner (2G, 1A) sent PHA on their way, with a pair of goals from Rhett Benaschak and a powerplay marker from Soren Hayden (1G, 2A) leading Prairie to the 7-2 win.

Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (1) vs STAR Hockey Academy (7) U17 Prep

STAR Hockey Academy’s U17 Prep squad had been amongst the best in their division this season, winning 14 of 18 heading into a Sunday clash with their inter-state rivals, Wenatchee. The beat would only go on for STAR in Seattle on the last day of the weekend, with three goals in the first period already sending them on their way to victory. When all was set and done, STAR had directed 66 shots on goal and scored seven with Hunter Hoggan (2G, 1A), Kyler Bush (1G, 2A), and Blaise Weibye (1G, 2A) chipping in with three points apiece in STAR’s 7-1 win.

Okanagan Hockey Academy Black (0) vs North Shore Warriors Female (7) U18 Prep

Yesterday was the first of back-to-back clashes between Okanagan Hockey Academy Black and the North Shore Warriors, with Saturday’s ending in a win for the Warriors. That was thanks, largely, to NSW’s Emma Ward, who made a perfect 32 saves on 32 shots in the 3-0 win. The loss for OHA Black was their third in a row, and unfortunately, North Shore’s momentum would only build on Sunday. Alexa Roberts (2G, 2A) scored the only goal of the first period 25 seconds in to give her team the perfect start, and while OHAB held off the Warriors in the first half of the game, North Shore exploded in front late on. In addition to Roberts’ four points, Elise Miller (2G, 2A) had four of her own, and Haylie Hedges (21/21) followed up Ward’s shutout win yesterday with a shutout of her own in NSW’s 7-0 win.

STAR Hockey Academy (2) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (6) U15 Prep

STAR Hockey Academy’s U15 Prep squad lost the first two games of their Northern foray into the Okanagan, falling first at the hands of RHA Kelowna Friday before being bested 3-2 by the Okanagan Hockey Academy in the first of back-to-back games between the two teams. That loss, unfortunately for STAR, would prove to be the significantly closer hockey game of the two. After Mason Liebel scored in the first, it was two goals in less than two minutes of the second period that presented OHA with a big cushion, and one they’d hold until the end of the hockey game. Owen Magness (2G, 1A) scored twice, and Cohen Short cashed in with three assists in OHA’s eventual four-goal victory.

Notre Dame Hounds (4) vs Calgary International Hockey Academy (12) U15 Prep

Calgary International Hockey Academy’s U15 Prep squad have scored in bunches this season. Seven teams in the U15 Prep division had equal or better than CIHA’s 10 wins heading into Sunday, but only two teams had scored more goals. CIHA potted 14 on Notre Dame in their only previous meeting this season, and unfortunately for the Hounds, that trend continued into Sunday’s game. CIHA got a massive night from Ryder Lefaivre (3G, 3A), who picked up six points in addition to three points apiece from Kai Dingwall (2G, 1A), George Matheos (3A), and Cohen St. Louis (3A). At one point in the game, Notre Dame managed to fight back to turn a 6-1 deficit into a 6-4 deficit, inspiring some hope, but CIHA went on to score six goals in a row en route to their massive victory.

OHA Edmonton (4) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme Female (1) U18 Prep

OHA Edmonton’s Female U18 Prep squad have looked almost indestructible this season. Save for a defeat at the hands of SAHA at the beginning of November, OHAE had won the rest of their 19 games, including back-to-back wins against the Northern Alberta Xtreme at the end of November. NAX was again their test on Sunday, and while OHAE dominated, NAX’s Hannah Pope (44/48) was virtually heroic in between the pipes for the vast majority of the game, with her 27 saves on 29 shots in the first forty minutes helping NAX hold on to just a 2-1 deficit, one goal away from the equalizer. Unfortunately for Pope and NAX, OHAE came out in the third period keen to keep control of the puck, and managed to stifle NAX to only three shots on goal in the last twenty minutes. OHAE outshot NAX 48-11 overall, resulting in a 4-1 win.

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (2) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy Female (1) U18 Prep

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna’s Female U18 Prep squad have been on an absolute tear. In the five games since OHA Edmonton bested them in overtime back on November 22, RHAK not only won all five of them, but did so by only allowing a total of seven goals over those five games. Okanagan Hockey Academy gave them a real test on Saturday night, leading 2-0 but falling 5-3. OHA again took the lead against RHAK on Sunday, with Shea Warnick’s early goal giving her team the lead. Kennedy Sisson (2A) and Hayley McDonald continued what’s been an excellent weekend by assisting Maddy Niesh’s tying goal before Alida Korte gave RHA Kelowna their first lead of the game early in the second. OHA outshot RHAK 14-5 in the first period, but through two, RHAK held on to a 2-1 lead. OHA pushed and generated scoring chances in the last twenty minutes, but Julianne Hendriks (29/30) remained superb, making 29 stops on 30 shots in all, including a perfect 16/16 in the final forty minutes.

Notre Dame Hounds (3) vs OHA Edmonton (6) U17 Prep

OHA Edmonton’s U17 Prep squad have had a stretch of very difficult opponents over the past month. They were bested by fellow heavyweights RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna, BWC Academy, and Edge School since this time in November, but have still managed to keep a .500 record over that time, aided by a victory over CIHA in their latest game. The positive momentum gained from that game carried into Sunday for OHAE, who raced out to the lead against Notre Dame. OHAE took three minor penalties in the first period alone, but their penalty kill was better than they could’ve hoped for. They’d kill all three Hounds powerplay, but even better, would score the first goal of the game shorthanded through Jaxon Moss. OHAE led 2-0 through one, building on the lead from there, with Kaysun Brunham (1G, 1A) picking up his first multi-point game of the season, leading the way for OHA Edmonton. OHA scored the first five of the game, and while Notre Dame pushed back, it wasn’t enough, and OHA cruised over the finish line for the victory.
