The Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) has announced that its Governors have granted approval for Canadian Hockey Enterprises Academy (CHE Academy) to operate as a new member program in the 2026-27 season.
The addition of CHE Academy brings the league to a total of 39 member programs and 136 teams across Canada and the USA.
“We are thrilled to be joining the CSSHL and as the league continues to grow in Eastern Canada,” said Paul Crowley, President of Canadian Hockey Enterprises and CHE Academy. “Over 38 years, our relationships within both the hockey and local community have equipped CHE to bring the Academy world to Peterborough. We look forward to competing against the other CSSHL Programs and are committed to providing our student-athletes with opportunities athletically, academically, and beyond.”
Established in 1987 in Peterborough, Ontario, CHE has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality hockey tournaments and camps for men, women, boys and girls across Canada and internationally. CHE has a long history of developing many athletes who have gone on to have successful careers in the NHL, NCAA, CHL and many other leagues across the globe.
“At CHE Academy, we believe hockey is a platform for building character, leadership, and community. We are committed to making a positive impact both on and off the ice. Beyond hockey, CHE Academy will strive to develop confident, responsible student-athletes who, upon completing the academy, are prepared to become strong leaders and contributors within their communities” – Kurt Hyland, GM, CHE Academy.
“The CSSHL is excited to add CHE Academy to our eastern division as we continue to expand and grow our league across Canada,” said CSSHL COO Kevin Goodwin. “It has been a recent goal of our league to grow the eastern division, and the addition of this program is another step in the right direction.”
The new addition brings the Eastern Division to a total of 24 teams and 16 member programs.
