The Victoria Royals have signed former RHA Kelowna student-athlete Owen McCarthy to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.
McCarthy spent two seasons in the CSSHL with RHA Kelowna, joining the league in 2022/23 where he recorded 22 points in 28 U15 Prep games. At the conclusion of the season the Royals selected the defenseman in the fourth round, 69th overall at the 2023 WHL Draft.
The following U17 Prep season the Chicago, Illinois product had 23 points in 29 games.
McCarthy is committed to NCAA program UMass-Lowell.
