The Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) has announced the winners of the 2025/26 Top Freshman (2010 born) Awards, as voted by the coaches:
Eastern U18 Prep: Zachary Botelho, Bourget Collège
Botelho led all Freshman goalies with a 2.23 GAA, .936 SV%, 2 shutouts and 5 wins, going 5-3 in 8 starts for Bourget. The Gatineau, QC product finished inside the top 10 among all goalies in all major statistics, including third in SV% and shutouts.
Female U18 Prep: Ryann Chimera, OHA Edmonton
The Edmonton, AB product led all skaters with 45 assists, while her 59 points were a Freshman best and second among all skaters. Having played in the Female U18 Prep division last year as an underage player, Chimera has 112 points in 57 career CSSHL games.
U18 Prep: Louis Oscar Holowaychuk, St. George’s School
Selected sixth overall by the Vancouver Giants at the 2025 WHL Draft, Holowaychuk led all Freshman with 23 goals, while his 44 points were second. Among all skaters the Vancouver, BC forward finished fifth in goals and ninth in points, leading his team in both categories.
